A bunny named Wren

We have a new bunny in the house! Her name is Wren and she is a year old Harlequin Rex. She belonged to a friend who is going through some tough times so I offered to take Wren in and spoil her as I do all bunnies. :) She seems to be settling in quite nicely and has been playing non-stop since she arrived yesterday. She's a big girl, the biggest bunny I have ever had. Her ears are gigantic and I am convinced that she can hear the sound of her treat bag opening a mile away.

My hope is to one day be able to bond her with Emma who is upstairs by herself. Since Petey passed away Laurel and Finch have developed a friendship that is truly adorable to watch, though I don't leave them alone for even a second. Laurel is still very aggressive, but seems to be getting better. They still miss Petey, as do I. I think of him every day and still can't believe that he is gone.

Anyhoo, here is a video of Wren playing in her blanket. If you have ever wondered what a bunny does when it plays here is a good example. Can you imagine keeping this gorgeous rabbit in a cage? Or any rabbit, for that matter? I can't.

Wren is so cute! I love those pink ears! Will the bunnies hurt each other if you leave them together? I thought bunnies were pretty docile. Of course, I know nothing about bunnies because I have kitties only.

Female rabbits are very territorial and can really do some damage if they feel like it. Laurel and Petey nearly killed each other when I was trying to bond them. So, everything has to be taken slowly, especially with girls. They may never bond, but I have to give it a try. :)
Beautiful Bunny! Thanks for being such a great Mom to many bunnies! I have seen people take care of them very poorly in the past and seeing what a wonderful life you give them makes me feel so happy!

it's so kind of you to help out your friend and Wren.
My parents( when i was little) had 2 white rabbits that lived in our enclosed porch "den".
i would love to have a rabbit..but my dogs have said No.

Darling! And obviously feeling safe and cheerful.

I can entertain myself like that with a blanket for hours.

She is gorgeous! And you have quite a nice playroom set up there... This is the year of the Rabbit - but I am sure you knew that!

Such a delight! Thank you for sharing this, Nancy. I needed a bit of happy distraction today. I have never had a bunny but you sure make me want one! She reminds me of the nutbrown hare in Guess How Much I Love You. Thanks for the smile on my face, Nancy!
Enjoy the day.

My goodness, I think we have jack rabbits out here with smaller ears than Wren. They suit her though. She's a beautiful girl.

So gorgeous! I love your bunny posts. Wren is very active! OUr male bunny, Rufus, is possibly the laziest bunny alive....he has the run of the whole living room and really, he just loves to sit. And lie. And he quite likes to eat too! Maisie on the other hand is quite excited and loves to run around and investigate just what's going on in 'her' room. Especially peoples feet! They are best, best buddies so I can just imagine how much you and the others are missing Petey. Fingers crossed with the future bonding - I know from experience how tricky that can be.

Oh, Nancy! What a precious big girl she is!! And such a wonderful thing you did, helping her out. I used to work at a local Humane Society and fell in love with the rabbits we had there...one day, perhaps, we'll have a rabbit or two...

I want to grab her ears and hold them in my hand without letting go. She is too cute! I lurve how she is playing in the towel :D
Oh - She is magnificent! I love that bit o' spunk she had going on with the blanket.
I had a bunny growing up, but she was dwarf. I could tell you some funny stories about a few bunnies my grandpa kept in TN on his farm. There were always lots of little bunnies being born.
Whenever Chloe and I pretend play Alice, I get to be the white rabbit… Either because I like rabbits so much or I'm often mention being late to her (she likes to dawdle)… Oh, 3 year olds…

So happy Wren came to live with you during your friend's rough time. She will love it I am sure...
Wren is a sweetie - very playful, and those ears!!!

I really enjoy to see what you create. Have been following some time.
Always original and a bit edgy. Like that you do not use to often antique charms like keys, feathers and the likes.
Your manage too make pretty jewelery and still keep it raw and earthy.
Excuse may way of expressing myself, but I am not from an English speaking background.

Oh she is sooo cute! Seems to be saying " Why can't I cover my head AND my butt at the same time?" LOL We have a lionhead who has bonded with our guinea pigs. She just loves them and is constantly cleaning them or snuggling them like a mama!
