Happy fun me love you long play time

So, the other day I was browsing around Michaels, as I often do, and I came across some new wire that I had never seen before. I don't know if it is new new or just new to me but I can tell you that I screamed like a little girl when I saw it.

This is it! It's DMC Color Infusions Memory Thread and it is used in embroidery. It is a fiber wrapped copper wire that is acid-free, fade resistant and colorfast!

It is fairly soft and bendy so it didn't work so well for wire wrapped links but it coiled and knotted nicely and with some more play time I am sure I will be able to figure out a million more things to do with it (and a way to securely wire wrap with it).

Isn't it pretty? I love to use it as a way to bring in some color and texture.

The rest of this bracelet consists of a lovely selection of glass and stone beads along with some vintage chain and one of my porcelain heart charms. I am so thrilled with how this piece came out and even more thrilled that I have some new wire to play around with. Don't you just love to find new materials that get your creative fire going?

That bracelet is excruciatingly FABulous!! Yes, you are right, the texture and colors add so much to the other elements. I love what the little striations of the twisting add to the rest of the bracelet, while at the same time having a silky look. Can't wait to see what else you do with it! Thank God I don't have a Michael's near me or my creative pile would be even more suffocating...I'll live vicariously through you!

Love this bracelet - gorgeous blast of colours! I always wish we had a Michaels when you guys blog about it. I posted about my art bead collection today including yours...a small hoard! I really like the texture that this wire gives - it makes the bracelet look very tactile as well as pretty.

Love it! The whole mix of textures is fantastic--and what a coup finding that cool wire! I would love to do a Michael's shelf check, but I need to check my own stash first--I'm sure there are things in there I don't even realize I have!

Thanks for sharing! I love the coils...that's a great idea. I knew there just had to be something jewelry-related that it would be great for and you proved it. Now I'm going to buy some for sure!
