So, the other day I was browsing around Michaels, as I often do, and I came across some new wire that I had never seen before. I don't know if it is
new new or just new to me but I can tell you that I screamed like a little girl when I saw it.
This is it! It's DMC Color Infusions Memory Thread and it is used in embroidery. It is a fiber wrapped copper wire that is acid-free, fade resistant and colorfast!
It is fairly soft and bendy so it didn't work so well for wire wrapped links but it coiled and knotted nicely and with some more play time I am sure I will be able to figure out a million more things to do with it (and a way to securely wire wrap with it).
Isn't it pretty? I love to use it as a way to bring in some color and texture.
The rest of this bracelet consists of a lovely selection of glass and stone beads along with some vintage chain and one of my porcelain heart charms. I am so thrilled with how this piece came out and even more thrilled that I have some new wire to play around with. Don't you just love to find new materials that get your creative fire going?
