Currently I'm reading "The Likeness" by Tana French.
From the Book: "Six months after a particulary nasty case. Detective Cassie Maddox has transferred out of Dublin's Murder squad and has no plans to go back. That is, until an urgent telephone call summons her to a grisly crime scene.
It's only when she sees the body that Cassie understands the hurry. The victim, a young woman, is Cassie's double and carries ID identifying herself as Alexandra Madison, an alias Cassie once used on an undercover job. Suddenly, Cassie must discover not only who killed this girl but, more importantly, who is this girl? And as reality and fantasy become desperately tangled. Cassie moves dangerously close to losing herself forever." So far I'm enjoying it.
Your pieces are beautiful. I have the copy of the magazine, congrats on your feature.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5763145975710020509.post-58774572739703619222009-11-01T20:51:41.082-05:002009-11-01T20:51:41.082-05:00Love the bracelets. Also, I'm reading Rules of Deception by Christopher Reich. It's a spy/suspense thriller with short chapters that reads like a movie. I can't put it down and I'm at the end so it's all starting to come together. Just some suggestions. I LOVE to read, don't have a lot of time for it, but like it anyway. Book Club sounds awesome. We could read a book and then challenge ourselves to make jewelry inspired by the book...hhhmm....(you know you're a jewelry designer when...)Marcie Abney Carrollhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07578434608830556772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5763145975710020509.post-56737122646399698052009-11-01T20:42:01.052-05:002009-11-01T20:42:01.052-05:00Absolutely fabulous jewelry! It was a great read, i thought, and i had trouble getting to much else until i had it finished! your bracelets are stunning Nancy! There may be a lot of us who dabble in this and that and make pendants and earrings and things out of our shared medium.... but you my friend, you do what noone else can do. Your work is, per usual, stunning, unique and a feast for the senses; color, texture, the use of different elements, shapes etc... really really fantastic. okay, now back to my little pendants and earrings....chARiTy elisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13836282378729321210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5763145975710020509.post-56469701497638459622009-11-01T14:12:25.686-05:002009-11-01T14:12:25.686-05:00I wish I had some suggestions but the only books I...I wish I had some suggestions but the only books I've been keeping up lately are beading books.
I too, hope someone has some good recommendations! I think it might make me feel smarter, or something.
But it's gotta be lighter reading, like maybe something with some humor.
I'm totally up for a book club.
