Winter Seneca

On Saturday I found myself with some time on my hands. The weather was unbelievably mild and I was near Lodi Point on Seneca Lake. So that's where I went. I had the place to myself. It was a perfect day.

Winter Sky

The sun shone brightly and the sky was emerald blue. (That's an extra special blue only visible on perfect days.)

Winter on Seneca Lake

This lake is enchanted. Of this, I am sure.

Ghost me and a tree - shadows

The ghost version of me posed with the ghost version of a tree.

Rocks on Seneca Lake

Treasures are hidden within these piles of rocks.

Rock candy.

A winter day on Seneca Lake

I found beauty in everything.

These shores gave me hours of quiet adventure.

Lake Beach Loot

Found treasure!

Lake Beach Loot

Water-worn bones, rocks and walnuts...

Lake Beach Loot

Smooth brick, flat black stones, rusted metal and crab claws...

Lake Beach Loot

Old pottery shards, striped rocks and beach glass...

I own this beach!

It was a perfect day. In every way.

what great finds and beautiful pictures. I could use a place like that to get away right now. The cosmic shit storm that I am in is sucking everything I have to give. I don't know how you were able to shake off everything that happened to you with the cane but I could use whatever you are on cuz this suks.
Thanks for the vent.

Lovely pictures and what great finds! My husbands family is lucky enough to have a beautiful cottage on Seneca lake (Seneca is also my husabands name!!) and I just love going up there. It is just so lovely and peaceful. Nature at it's best! I love to watch the tadpoles insome of the streams, and climb up the waterfalls...

Your lake treasures are the bomb. I love all the smooth rocks.
I grew up on Lake Geneva WI. and it still calls to me. There is just something about the sounds of the water and wind on a lake. I miss it so much.

That last picture is absolutely thrilling, Miss Nancy. So glad to see that you are enjoying every bit of your day to yourself! It made me smile to see these things, as I picked up similar ones on the shores of Lake Michigan back in September. That brilliant blue sky is so lovely. Thank you so much for sharing this photo safari.
Enjoy the day!

Simply awesome!!! So refreshing and rejuvenating for you... Wish these kinds of days came at least once a month. Can we put them on order?

With the weather being 65 here (so warm for January!) we took the little people to the beach here in DE and spent a glorious hour with our toes in the sand collecting treasures as well...

Must've been the thing to do that day - the air must've been carrying songs from the water calling us to it...

Thanks for sharing your wonderful day and treasures!

Oh Nancy, that must have been one of the most glorious days in your life ever. It looks absolutely fantastic. I love to do things like that myself. LOVE! It was too long ago now, and I realize I better do something about it. Envy you at the same time as I am really really happy for you. I love the fact that you were there all alone also. Magic! :-)

you are so deserving of that... hoping that perfect adventure stays with you... the pictures are gorgeous... and so are the finds...
Wow- those treasures are amazing! Really great finds, especially on a lake. Your photos are really beautiful too. I lived in the Finger Lakes region from January 2000-December 2003 while working at the Finger Lakes Times as a staff photographer. I was a photographer long before falling in love with beads and jewelry design! Now I spend my time doing both! Your post brings back fond memories of living and working in that area.
