ICE is nice

Some of you may recall that a while ago I posted some work in progress photos of these circle pieces. I came up with this idea to "float" circles within circles. I kind of have a thing for circles and ovals and the infinite things that you can create with them. Toss ICE Resin into the mix and the possibilities get even crazier (and my brain gets scarily close to exploding).

Last week I finally had a moment to give the resin a try. And I loved it! I am so thrilled with how my pieces came out - just as I had envisioned them. Exactly! I can't tell you how happy it makes me to try something out for the first time and have it work just the way I had hoped and dreamed. (yes, I do dream about these things...)

I found the resin very easy to use, though a little messy my first time out. I now know what I need to have prepared and how I can do things in a less sticky way the next time. I ended up with a few tiny air bubbles but they really don't phase me in the slightest. I kind of like them, actually, and want to figure out how to keep more of them around for some future pieces.

These pieces are now large, modern pendants that hang on silver neck-rings. I have plans to make smaller pendants, earrings and bracelets. Then I may build a house out of ICE Resin. And a car. And my very own Robert Downey, Jr.. It's THAT amazing!

Awesome! What a neat idea. I have yet to try resin but I may need to get some. I dream beads too lol.
