Pottery poll

Today in the studio I spoke with Maryanne, the potter who threw the bowl that I glazed in the last post. I ran the idea by her of possibly collaborating on a line of pottery and, happily, she said "Sure, I'm game!" So, I thought I would put up a poll (look to your right) to get an idea of what types of forms people would be inclined to buy online. We would primarily be selling online since both of us do shows with our own work and really don't have the room to be cramming in a new line of pots.

So please be so kind as to take my poll and let us know what kind of pieces you might be interested in. Maryanne can throw anything. I mean it. I listed a very limited bunch of forms so please(!) feel free to leave a comment and let me know if there are other pieces that would really float your boat. Also, you can select all of the pieces that you would be interested in, not just one, so go for it!

Please invite others to take the poll! The more input the better! This info will be so helpful to not only me and M but to other potters thinking about selling online as well. :)

Fabulous idea! I've seen some of her other thrown forms on your blog and they are fantastic. Coupled with your fine glaze sense I think you are onto something here.

Pasta bowl too. :) (Not as a set, though... I'm cheap, and single.)

I totally forgot to add Chip and Dip bowls! I love them! (I once went to a workshop with a rather snobby potter who said that he "wasn't part of the chip and dip crowd." Whatever...bring on the dip!)

For my new house I have been looking for a set of lidded canisters in different sizes. They would be nice in a bathroom as well, holding toiletries. Great idea and wonderful teaming! Enjoy the day! Erin

Large and small serving platters as well. I tend to collect different serving bowls and platters.

I did the poll, but you did not have two choices: serving platter, and spoon rest (just because I've been looking for one. Maybe not a big seller).

Also, I mentioned you on my blog today (www.lisaoram.com). Thanks for your lovely words.

Berry Bowls are a big seller in summer around here and honey pots, too. Love the chip and dip platters. I also like the little dispensers for olive oil... they have a name, but it escapes me at the moment! I love my sugar bowl I got from a local potter. It has the cutest handmade spoon that goes with it. It makes me smile very time I use it!
Small vases and all types of candle holders do very well at my shop where I work and at the studio ceramic sales, too! Gosh, there are so many forms, I could go on and on and on...
