I'd hammer in the morning, I'd hammer in the evening...

Today consisted of shipping (for three hours, OMG!) and working on pieces for a show I have this weekend. I am making some variations on my dragonfly necklace - different styles of chains, beads and colors. Once again my fingers are sore and my ears are ringing a bit from all the hammering. And I still have a way to go. I would like to have five necklaces ready for the weekend and I also need to make some earwires for my 4 in 1 earrings, so my hammering is far from over. I'll have to put cotton balls in the rabbit's ears. :)

Oh, poor bunny! I'm sure he's super excited to see the new changes you're working on.

You'll have to show me sometime how you make thos teardrop shaped wires- they are so perfectly round on the bottom and then really really straight arms coming up into the wrapped loop. HOW DO YOU DO IT?? Do you have those special nylon pliers?

I just had to say how gorgeous your earrings are! I want some NOW. They will have to go on my christmas wish list!

Hey L! The teardrops are soooo EASY! You just bend a length of wire into a U shape using a dowel, pen, anything in the size you want (in my case I used a dapping punch). Then you just cross over at the ends and wrap. Easy peasy!

Thanks so much Danielle! What a sweet thing to say. :)
Mark (my hubby) being a blacksmith and all...hammering is a constant here. Not one of my favorite sounds, but a familiar backdrop nonetheless.

I spotted some copper wire in his shop the other day and my mind started whirling with possibilities...
